I’m a man who loves his bourbon. Bourbon is meant to be sipped. But not always. One of my favorite drinks, especially during the spring and summer months, is a Big Daddy. It is simply – and deliciously – made with bourbon and sweet tea and served over ice. The ratio of bourbon to sweet tea is up to the drink maker, and I tend to make mine strong, but be warned: when sipping bourbon, a drinker tends to take their time. The refreshing nature of this drink can lead you to drink more and faster, and the next thing you know you wake up naked in your ex’s front yard. The bourbon chosen for this beverage should be one you enjoy but isn’t pricey. Save the top shelf bourbons for sipping.

A Variation – For The Ladies

Bourbon is not the most popular booze with the womenfolk, but this variation on the drink is quite popular when I have female guests. Mix bourbon, unsweetened iced tea, and a bit of peach syrup and serve over ice. The ladies tend to love this drink, as it goes down easy. And after a few of these cocktails, so will they.
